Load following

The term 'Load following' as it applies to the area of energy can be defined as ' Regulation of the power output of electric generators within a prescribed area in response to changes in system frequency, tie line loading, or the relation of these to each other, so as to maintain the scheduled system frequency and/or established interchange with other areas within predetermined limits'.

The term 'Load following' as it applies to the area of reclamation can be defined as ' The generating capacity having fast response time to varying loads over a wide range of unit loading by automatic generation control (AGC) from load frequency control equipment'.
